anyway.

work was so so fun! so, there're like tons of ngee ann ppl. and 2 from early childhood. they're nice. i think i may ahve scared off one of them by my incessant talking. yeah i told them how blk 52/53 is haunted and how mcm ppl hate kids. they were pretty shocked (:

so. remember when mok said, 'oh don't worry. first day only have to clean and carry things'. and how estella said that first day can taste ice cream.

NONSENSE.

we got there, put on our uniforms, and they threw us into training and work immediately. hell, i did everything except kitchen. being host is fun :D you stand there to greet people and ask whether they're dining in or taking away, then you raise your hand for other people to take over.

my first table was this group of really endearing ah bengs. apparently they asked sab why she refilled their glasses every five mins... and my second table was this blond guy who was really nice. which brings me to singaporeans.. they're just so typically rude.. even when they thank you, sometimes it doesnt feel sincere. my first two tables were really nice people though~

oh ya. when i went in, there was like a buzz, cos apparently the manager's name is charmaine. wowee! and my asst manager said he was shocked when he saw me cos apparently i look like some philipino star. [no, not charmaine star. she and i are on totally different levels.]

my co-worker asked where i got my accent from. sheesh. i think sab and i are somewhat outcasts when it comes to verbal singlish communication. and and.. i was taking this table's order, they spoke in chinese but i replied in english, cos, when i brought them to their table they spoke english. so i know they understand. [and yes, it's also reflex] so i turned away for a while, and i heard one of them say, 'wo bu shi gen ni jiang le ma.. ta bu hui jiang hua yu de..' [translation: didn't i tell you, she doesn't know how to speak chinese..]

hey hey hey!! i'll have you know im BILINGUAL k.. b3, B3!!! and a while before they came i directed a chinese nun to kopitiam k.

ANYWAY. people are so nice! i wish steve was with us though. he can eavesdrop on what they're talking bout and tell us. i can't wait for ALL you guys to start working and tell me how ur first day was like. yeah. even 50 cent.
